I have to say it, I’m not the best driver around. There is a certain lead-foot syndrome i seem to suffer under. But i manage, i haven’t been in a accident. Yet every time a new car game comes out and prizes itself with a new level of realism, i just have to try it.
First off, it leaves an impression that it is actually easy to become a top race/dirt/cross/off-road driver. It starts with a fancy intro of all the top and popular Cross rally drivers who live today (Ken Block, Travis Pastrana, Dave Mirra, who all seem to work for Subaru Racing Team America…) And they act like they’re your buddys, wich seems very very _creepy_, thou it could be my paranoia kicking in. After you finish couple of races and reach level 10 you are handed money on a golden platter, wth is up with that? Is it really this easy? Doubt it… : >
Yes i know that there are points missing, but i’m kind of frustrated with windows right now, since i was almost finished with the game,
until my win7x64 installation crapped out. I thought no problem, just copy save games and reinstall…. but noooooo windows live annoys me. Sure it’s a nice way to get players online with trophys and such, but… I can’t copy my savegames : ( this means I’m back at lvl10, a nice jump down from level40….
Sooo… when it comes to graphics it is very _shiny_ they even used something that J.J. Abrams overused in his last film: Lens-flare! The detail is nice, although I’m playing with DX10 (8800GS ftw!) graphics. What they really improved from the last DiRT was the Damage model. it has alot more detail. This is what suprised me, and again got me in the game. Destruction is truly _shiny_
Below you’ll see some examples of the game play… More videos are reachable if you click on _more_ HTML5 is fun : D
Oh and there is also a random picture gallery… which should be online in about 3 hours… make that 6 days later…
Removed pics and videos, you can use google if you want to see the qual… just a waste of space for me : >
